UP schools will remain closed till February 6. The school closure has been extended due to the poor Covid-19 situation in the state.
UP schools will remain closed till February 6. The school closure has been extended from January 30 to February 6 now because of the Covid-19 situation in Uttar Pradesh. Online classes will however continue for students.
Earlier, Uttar Pradesh schools were supposed to be closed till January 30, and before that, school closures had been announced till January 23. The dates for school closures have been continuously revised in view of the Covid-19 Omicron cases in the state.
Online classes to continue in Uttar Pradesh
The state government has announced that till schools reopen, online classes will continue as before.
Schools have been asked to take note of the new announcements of school closures and plan their schedules accordingly.
The upcoming UP board exams and the UP elections are other reasons for continuing online classes. No official announcement has yet been made regarding the UP board exams.

Covid-19 situation in Uttar Pradesh
The Covid-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh are mainly focused in Lucknow. The city reported around 3000 Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
Other cities at risk are Gautam Buddh Nagar and Varanasi.
The state government is trying to speed up the vaccination drive for children in the age group of 15 to 18 years.
