COVID-19 latest News: Maharashtra cases cross 13 lakh mark
Maharashtra added a staggering 92,000-plus case in just five days this week, taking the state’s tally above the 13 lakh-mark. The state recorded 17,794 new cases, pushing the state’s overall tally to 13 lakh. Adding 416 more fatalities, the state’s death toll increased to 34,761. However, in some positive news, the number of new cases and deaths declined. Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has said that the state government will issue a circular to all doctors and COVID-19 hospitals asking for rational use of remdesivir injections. Mumbai city reported 1,876 positive cases during the day, which pushed its overall case count to 1.94 lakh while its death toll rose to 8,706 with 48 new fatalities. States across India continue to report high numbers even though there is a slight drop in new patients.
