Delhi: Man held for trying to film woman on board Metro train

The woman alleged that the accused was trying to make a video of her on his mobile phone while she was travelling from Noida Sector-16 to Akshardham.

A 40-year-old man was arrested for allegedly trying to film a woman on his mobile phone on board a Metro train here, the police said on Thursday.

The incident was reported on Wednesday by a 25-year-old woman to the Yamuna Bank Depot Metro police station.

In her complaint, the woman, who works in a MNC in Noida, alleged that the accused was trying to make a video of her on his mobile phone while she was travelling from Noida Sector-16 to Akshardham, the police said.

The woman alleged that when she noticed him in the act and took away his mobile phone, the accused snatched it back and tried to manhandle her but other passengers came to her help, they said.

On the basis of the information, a case was registered and the accused Kumar, who is from Begusarai in Bihar, was arrested, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Metro) Pankaj Kumar Singh.

During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused was in an inebriated state at the time of the incident. He sells tobacco products for a living in his hometown and was here to meet his relatives, the police officers said.
