Delhi schools and offices will remain closed on September 11 for the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit, scheduled at Bharat Mandapam from September 11 to 13.
The Directorate of Education, Delhi, has declared September 11, 2026 (Friday), as a holiday for all offices and schools. The holiday has been declared in view of the BRICS Summit and related arrangements. The Directorate issued the notification following a communication from the General Administration Department, Government of NCT of Delhi.
The official notice reads, All Offices & Schools under the Directorate of Education (including Govt Aided and Unaided Recognised Pvt. Schools) shall observe a holiday on this issue with the approval of the Director (Education).’
BRICS SUMMIT TO BE HELD FROM SEPTEMBER 11 TO 13
The 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit is scheduled to be held at Bharat Mandapam from September 11 to 13. The summit is expected to bring together leaders from around 30 BRICS member and partner countries, along with heads of international organisations and business representatives.
Accordingly, all offices and schools under the Directorate of Education, including government-aided and unaided recognised private schools, will observe a holiday on September 11. The decision has been issued with the approval of the Director (Education).
