Fake followers racket: Rapper Badshah questioned by Mumbai Police
The Crime Branch of the Mumbai Police on Thursday (August 6, 2020) has summoned famous Bollywood singer and rapper Badshah in the fake social media followers case.
MUMBAI: Probing the fake influencer racket, the city crime branch questioned rapper Badshah in connection with alleged fake likes and views on his social media account. Aditya Pratik Singh Sisodia, known by his stage name Badshah, was grilled for over five hours, said the police.
“His statement is not over yet, and he has been asked to appear before the police on Saturday,” said inspector Sachin Waze.
The police said Sisodia told them that Chtrbox, a social media influence company, misused his name, and so he even served a legal notice to the company. Sisodia used the services of racketeers to increase the number of views and likes on his social media posts. Police are likely to summon Chtrbox officials on Monday. Last week, police recorded statements from various directors of Chtrbox. Waze said there were several other celebrities likely to be summoned.
