Delhi traffic advisory: Diversions near Rajghat today amid farmers protest

The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of a demonstration, protest and rally scheduled to be held at Kishan Ghat on Tuesday, July 21. Traffic restrictions and diversions will be imposed on a need basis from 8:30 am onwards to ensure smooth traffic management and public safety.

According to the advisory, commuters may face diversions at Delhi Gate, Rajghat Crossing, Guru Nanak Chowk, Shantivan Chowk, Rajghat DTC Depot and the IP Flyover.

ROADS LIKELY TO WITNESS DIVERSIONS

The roads likely to witness congestion include Satyagrah Marg, Velodrome Road, Rajghat DTC Depot Road, Rajghat DTC Bypass Road, along with surrounding stretches.

The traffic advisory has been issued in view of the demonstration organised by the Desh Bachao Morcha at Kishan Ghat. The police said diversions will be implemented on a need basis depending on the traffic situation and public safety requirements.

POLICE ASK COMMUTERS TO PLAN AHEAD

The Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters travelling towards the airport, railway stations and adjoining areas to plan their journeys in advance to avoid delays. Motorists have also been asked to follow the directions of traffic personnel deployed at the spot, park vehicles only in designated parking areas and avoid roadside parking that may obstruct traffic movement.

Commuters are further advised to use navigation apps for real-time traffic updates and, wherever possible, avoid the affected routes during the advisory period. The police appealed to the public to cooperate with traffic personnel for smooth traffic management and said the inconvenience caused is regretted.
